Here are a collection of images from the 2024 Preston Street Bikes Races held in Little Italy, in Ottawa, Ontario. This year it celebrated the 50th anniversary of races being held here and is now the 2nd longest bike race festival in Canada.

The bike lobby is a problem. A problem that exists in the minds of people who make decisions for our cities. A lot more people in Ottawa need to start living and moving around without a car. And it’s hard for lots of reasons.

We are a family of 3 living in Ottawa, Ontario without a car. It’s been 4 years and there is a learning curve to living this way. Living without a car should become the main focus of municipal politicians in all cities in Canada. It’s possible with infrastructure that is maintained all year round.

The Preston Street, Little Italy, bike races took place in Ottawa on June 18, 2023. There were fixie, brakeless, elite and a variety of other classes of race riders that took to the streets.
